Yep I think the laundry would be a good compromise. They are still inside but not doing the business all over the house.

But dogs can be pretty weird animals. No matter what comfy and warm dog bed we put out under the pergola or in the laundry for our silky terrier it would prefer to be lying on the grass covered in frost yet the old girl lived a long life.
