Default Cylinder Head Part No:

Hi guy's,

I have a mate that has a GD Telstar that was overheating, but before I could diagnose what the problem was he'd already taken the cylinder head off it!

He said he spent 2 weeks trying to work out the problem and decided that it was the cylinder head gasket but unfortunatly he'd already pulled it apart before I could test it properly for things like hydrocarbons and compression test it.

Now for the funky part:

He reckons the cylinder head doesn't match up with the engine because the water jackets that go between the engine and the cylinder head don't match up...

Now, the way I was thinking of going about this was giving ford the VIN number for the car, then working out what the part number for the cylinder head is, then try and match that up with what's documented on ford's computers, but I can't find a ford like part number on the cylinder head...

Now when I say "ford like part number" I'm mainly knowledgeable with falcons and most of their part numbers start with DA and such and are about 10-15 characters long or so.....

It's a 2.2l motor (or at least that's what it says on the side of the car!), I'm happy to take some photos to confirm this.

The only markings that stand out is "F201 4-2" on the side of the head and there's another number written on the back of the head (opposite side of the timing gear) but I can't remember what it is.

Cheer's guys!

James
