AMEP would be taking a very cautious and stage managed approach post-election because they have a senator who is:

Very inexperienced and immature going by his reported Facebook contributions, not prepared for politics, probably not well briefed on party policy, wasn't expecting to win and was probably only selected as a candidate to fill the spot for AMEP in Victoria.

AMEP would be very aware that if they don't get this right, then they will do major damage to their brand. They are already going to have significant trouble getting this bloke re-elected in 6 years with a primary vote of 0.5%.
