What Falcon fans like yourself fail to see, is that due to market fragmentation Falcon has been (or will be ) replaced by a group of cars...Mondeo for simple/luxurious commuting, Territory/Flex for getaway/family hauling, Ranger for legit load carrying and hauling, and Mustang as a fun machine. Add to that Fiesta for well priced transport for one or two, Focus for small families. There is some bleed in the capabilities of those cars (Fiesta and Focus are fun machines as well, Mondeo can be had in a wagon, Mustang and Ranger could transport small families) but overall each car is the master of it's intended purpose. Jack of all trades just doesn't cut it with (most) buyers anymore. Ford's current (and 30% expanded) range is (and will be) filling Falcon's shoes, and Mondeo is great at doing what it does, full stop. |
