Default What is the right tyre pressure??

The car is a 2000 AU2 XR8... Dealer fitted Noisy Crappy Directional tyres just before i bought the car... Once i got the car home i checked the tyre pressure...which was 45psi all round. Dropped it to 32psi all round and it drove a bit softer, but tyres started to wine..which is annoying..
7,000 kilo`s later i noticed both front tyres were wearing badly on the inner side of the tread..
With the car just clocking 38,000 Kilo`s i woundn`t think there was much suspension wear..
So i went to a suspension & Wheel Alignment shop and was told the alignment was perfect and the wear was due to crapy tyres and low pressure..
He told me to run 40 psi all round which i thought was too high?? With
his personal car he runs 50 psi..which was a T3 with a XR front, super lows,18 inch rims running 245`s at the front and 265`s at the rear..450KW at the flywheel,Rotors were so large that he had to machine the inners of the rims to get them to clear..
Caliper`s were massive, No Plate had STABLE 1...
The car looked pretty tough, colour was silver.. One Tough car!
