Default Mondeo 3 button remote programming

G'day all.

Bought my first Euro Ford last week being an MA TDCi Mondeo and I got 2 remote keys with the car.

One didnt work and I replaced the battery and it still didnt work so I ordered a new remote from the local Ford dealer ($110.00) which I picked up today.

I realised that the car had probably forgotten the non working remote so I went hunting for info on how to program them again after trying the trusty demist switch flick id used with my EB/EF and NF over the years with no luck.

So I called a mate who was a TA with Ford and he told me how.

Stick the ignition key in and around until the dash lights up as if you were going to start the car and turn from that position (Ignition) to position 0 and back four times within three seconds.

So Ign on to off 4 times in 3 seconds, its easily achievable

The key should now be in the "Off" pozzy. (I think, if it doesnt work try it ending in the on position)

The locking control system is now in "learn mode" for the next 20 seconds and you need to now push a button on the remotes you want the car to learn.

As I had 3 including the one in the ignition I pushed the lock button on the key in the ign and got a chime, I then pushed the boot button on the new remote and the lock button on the old remote with the new battery and got a chime each time.

I then removed the key in the ign and tested the remotes which all worked for lock unlock, dead lock and boot open (2 pushes on the boot button)

The result?

3 fully functional Key remotes.

This MAY not be 100% as I was on the phone when i was doing this and did write it down but im pretty sure that was all there was to it.

BTW if you dont press a button on a remote when it is in learn mode it will "Unlearn" that remote so make sure you have them all with you for the learning.

Cheers,
Tony
