Hi guys,
I'm buying an interstate car. I'm from Adelaide and I'm buying an XF in Victoria. I've tried to do the internet check on the Vicroads site, however when I try the rego plate and the VIN it doesn't work saying that I need to call Vic roads. I've tried cars of the same vintage and the same message appears. I got my Missus to ring Vicroads today as I was at work and she gave them the rego plate number and they said it was currently registered but required the VIN to give more information about whether it was stolen, written off etc. She gave them the VIN number but they said it's not the right number. The problem is, XFs are of a vintage where the VIN has less numbers than VINs of today. Is there something I'm missing. Isn't the chassis number the same as the VIN? |
