HSV Axe Sportscat.

"Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) has confirmed its locally enhanced Colorado SportsCat dual-cab pick-up will soon be axed as Holden prepares to leave Australia and New Zealand, although the door has been left open for it to return in a new form in the future.

Speaking to journalists at the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 media launch in Melbourne, HSV boss Tim Jackson said the Ford Ranger Raptor-rivalling Colorado SportsCat “will lose its core vehicle … at least in the short term”.

“To develop a new vehicle takes an extended period of time,” he added, suggesting it might not be the end of the line for the Colorado SportsCat.

HSV might look to remanufacture the US-built Chevrolet Colorado in the future – as part of its developing GM Specialty Vehicles joint-venture with Holden parent company General Motors (GM) – and therefore create an enhanced SportsCat grade.

“With any project that we’d look at, the economics need to make sense, there has to be a good business case,” Mr Jackson said of the prospect."

Imagine how expensive a us colorado, converted to rhd and then add the hsv gear on top would cost.

It's just a face saving gesture, they know this vehicle is now out of reach.

So in the eternal Holden vs Ford battle, Ford won and won so big and we have V8 Mustangs and V8 utes on the way again. And Holden is soon to be no more, which is tragic.

They are not only awesome but will hold value brilliantly.

No one who’s ever driven it the way it’s supposed to be driven says that. I bet you’ve never even driven one, let alone on rough ground. The way it absorbs huge hits is outstanding. You brace yourself and start to cringe and it just glides over it.

If driven off road sure, and no i haven't.....most do the school run. It's a glorified Ranger which is pretty ordinary drive anyway.

An 80K wagon (like a used Audi RS4) runs rings around it in pretty much every way.

But you wouldn't have driven one.

RS4 wouldn’t get 50 metres down a dirt track without ripping off the front bar and holing the sump.

I won’t disagree that a conventional wagon is better for someone who never leaves the city, tows or carries large loads in the tray. But they are chalk and cheese.

You can’t compare 2 vehicles that serve 2 different purposes. Thats ridiculous.

Just because a car was made for offroad, doesn't mean that's the only place you can drive it. Also, I'm sure they would wash their car after an offroad bash. If I owned a 80k raptor I know I would. It would always be clean after.

Also, please show me where you got this 99% statistic from. Please provide a solid reputable link.

Don't be so quick to judge, because if we did the same we would come to the conclusion that you're a complete tosser which I'm sure is incorrect.

Obviously never been off-roading then. There are new dual cabs, cruisers and prados everywhere. Good job making a fool out of yourself though.
