Recently acquired an LT TDCi focus and have been wanting to find some bits and pieces to spice things up a little, so was wondering if we could start a thread purely for links to sources of aftermarket parts for the Focus.
Apologies if there is already something like this around but I couldn't see one. Thanks people |

Depends on what parts you are after ? Ebay has plenty of accessories advertised both here and O/S, if you source parts from O/S the UK is your best option as U.S. models can differ. There are a couple of threads in the Focus forum with a few links to places for parts. You may need to have a browse there as well

There's a thread for intakes, mostly on the petrol but i'm pretty sure there is some tdci intakes listed further down the page. and then if you're after any styling stuff as Russ has said just cruise through ebay au/uk that or http://www.fordpartsuk.com/partsshop.htm or http://www.european-parts.net/catalog/ they have plenty on the focus, with fordparts just inquite about a quote as they don't have aus listed for shipping but will still do it, and generally get back to you within the day.

See if you can contact the seller and work it out, that or if you know someone who lives closer for them to pick up and send them to you?

This looks as good a place as any...
Anyone got a tip on how to get the handbrake cover off? I made the mistake of getting one of those aluminium look jobs, and half an hour of swearing has me no closer to getting the original off (but at least one shallow scratch on the console). Next step might be a knife or a hacksaw, perhaps along the length of the thing.

I haven't actually removed one before but there's a thread on removing a BA Falcon handbrake cover and from what I read they have some sort of adhesive or double sided tape on the under side so I would imagine the Focus one probably uses similar. You could try giving it a squirt with some WD - 40 or other spray lubricant, preferably with the small thin plastic nozzle attachment so you can try to push it up under the cover and give it a spray, then see if you can twist it off. Put an old towel or some plastic sheeting or both down first so as not to get stuff on your seats or carpet, I can see it being similar to trying to get hand grips off pushbike / motorbike handlebars if you've ever tried before, if you want to reuse them they are virtually impossible to get off unless you lubricate them first. The other alternative with rubber hand grips (which are only cheap to replace) is to use a stanley knife but I'm not suggesting that for your handbrake cover.

Good idea. I'll try that first, though I'm not worried about damaging the original cover - just what's underneath it. I can tell you for a fact that what looks like metal underneath isn't particularly tough - a sharpish kitchen knife has left marks on it.

I've heard a heat gun/hair dryer to well melt the sticky stuff away.
I've been meaning to get one of those covers for my handbrake because i've got the alloy pedals and all that jazz.
