Hi All,
Member from way back, thought the best way to re-introduce myself to everyone was here! Have a long history with the forums, but got into bike racing, so bowed out for a little while. realising that I couldn't live any longer without going back to what I love - old fords and v8's. turns out my profile is still active and suprisingly rembered my password! Bit about me - still ride the bike as much as i can. Like to get out to Phillip island and broadford, winton etc. dabbled in racing and quickly found that i loved it. stuffed around with 400's for a bit, but now get about on a cbr1000RR. - *loves it. My background is a mechanical engineer - so pretty much anything with wheels interests me. Have worked on a couple of fun projects including a few 11 second cars, and a couple of smaller circuit cars too. Built a couple of bikes up etc etc. Used to have an old XC GS K code project car, but after a MASSIVE accident had to get rid of it to buy 2 new cars (sad...sad day). Few years down the track i find myself aching to get another projct and bring something old back to life. Desperatly on the hunt for an XB/XC ute rolling shell to get started on. and of course, will start a good project thread with all the pics of progres. (possibly got one lined up but having a bit of trouble making contact with the seller - with a bit of luck i'll have it tomorrow!) anyway, good to be back, Cheers.

Welcome back ol' mate.....a quick check & looks like more than 2 & 1/2 years since your last posting..... Could be a record - lol.
Also similar to old Fords, the bikes get into your blood as well hey. I've only ever been into road/trail & full dirt bikes - but still the same feeling of 'wind in hair' freedom that 2 wheels gives you. I haven't owned my own bike for a few year now, but always thinking about getting one again - hopefully soon. Cheers, Gavin. |
