Hi,
I've got a computer reader for my car (OBD2), and I have seen that my timing advance likes to jump up and down when I am idling (graph here). Is this right? Thanks for your help.

That looks like a reasonably normal pattern, Are you experiencing issues?

Is that from start-up?
If so, why are you starting with the throttle opened? As Russel said, looks ok, settling down from throttle open to zero.

No I am not experiencing issues (besides my cruise control button randomly working then not). I had my foot on the throttle to give it some revs. Why is the timing advance going up and down like that?

It is normal for spark to jump around at idle as the ecu will use it yo help control idle speed

I was driving yesterday with cruise control and watching the engine timing advance, and it is dropping 15 degrees almost instantly then going back to the value it was. I feel a gentle jerk when this happens. This is the image of this log while it was happening. Is this normal?
