Default Summernats 25 is near!

Looking forward to the smell of burnt rubber and the sweet sounds of v8 revving their tits off! I know I wouldn't be the only one!
So who's going? Anyone here on tue forums entering their cars in Any of the comps?

No but I have a mate with an old Gemini with a 308 in it for The burnout comp..
If my brothers ute is Finnished we will see if we can just have it in there for the power cruises.. I'll be taking it.. But it's got to be Finnished first.. New motor should be due to go in in another week or so

Naturally I'll be there, organising the SM Summernats Magazine crew again and also doing my youtube thing. Fives day of nearly no sleep, high temps, too much booze, covered in rubber and loving every minute of it.

as was i, i miss the JD icee's, you'd knock back half a carton of JD cans during the morning then switch to the icee's in the afternoon and back to the cans at night, i never got too trashed that way

OR

You just take one for the team and drink Jim Beam so they will think that sponsoring the event is worthwhile and do it again in the future.

No sponsors = no event.......

I'll definitely be there with some mates. Have been twice before and not going to miss this one coming. Meant to be the biggest early entrant list ever from what I have heard. The XE won't be ready in time but may have a little something something up my sleeve to take down.

u can camp at the site. it's cheap and easy, they have showers n that. make sure u get plenty of sunscreen and buy a sombrero hat. also, make sure u have a shower after the burnouts, u go in looking like 2000's Michael Jackson and come out looking like 1970's Michael Jackson

we have a spare spot in the bungalow (same room for 20 years ), a mate decided to have a kid around the time of the event, so he won't go. he is a bit of a pussy, another mate just had a kid 2 weeks back but he is still going

like tankclare said prepare for a few big days. if u see a guy in the middle of the road doing burnouts (not in a car, with feet) with his pants and undies around his knees, come say hello that is me

Thanks for the offer prasac , I was hoping to bring my son , so would probably overcrowd your bungalow . If he wants to come and I have to get a site myself , will there be more tent sites or will it be booked out , should I book and how much . If I get stuck on my own, I will take up your offer if its still there ,but dont go holding it for me if somebody else wants it in the meantime . Thanks again ,much appreciated .

we will be getting mates stopping thru all weekend, so i think they wanted to keep the spot free. i think 6 or 7 can squeeze in we usually on have 5.

check the Summernats website www.summernats.com.au all details will be on there. i think it's like $50-$70 to camp. which is cheap, we pay about $400ea for the room for 4 days Thurs-Mon

Lol my girly wanted to come! But I didn't let her.. Instead I've bought her tickets to go up to qld to go see her brother and nieces that she's always missing.
First thing early Friday morning she gets dropped off at Canberra airport then....
I go and get loose! Or as an old mate used to say (pommy chap).. LETS GET F&@KIN WIRED! Hahaha

yeah we stay at the Carotel, but in the rooms. had the same room for close to 15-20 years

i know a few girls that have gone down and most vow never to come back again (the reserved ones), you tell them what to expect especially all the guys screamin' stuff at 'em etc but they don't believe it till they experience it

nah, mine not ready. will be there just with the brother's Capri (Twin turbo 4L V8) lil vid of it in action http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUlT863m8as it was up for Street Machine of the Year this year (didn't win ) we usually enter it in Tuff Street, has won a fair few awards at the 'Nats, came runner up in Tuff Street a couple times and won Tuff Pro Street back in 2005. it's getting a bit old now (3rd year with the turbo combo) so doubt it will take anything this year.

next year a few more of us will have cars finished which will be good. i will be cruising my full tube drag car

Probably the worst place to ever take a girlfriend lol. Once someone spots a lady and yells out the usual chants all the bogans swarm in like flies on crap and next thing you know theres hundreds of people chanting lol. Like you said most brush off all the talk until they experience it.

I'll have to keep an eye out for everyone and come and say hello.

Last time I was at the nats my mates were watching me. Talk to some chick, middle of the day. Next thing they see is she takes her top off and standing there yapping to me.. They weren't stunned as it was pretty common there.

She says to me take your top off mate, I said (thinking she wouldn't be up for it) only if you take your top off first. She did!! I didn't and she looked pretty silly.

Hmmm maybe ill go to the nats again, dust everywhere $60 to get in and $15 parking. $10 lousy hotdogs, topless women, ok.

If it don't rain ill be there, any rain and the hot car and boobs disappear.
