My mate Craig Gerdes leaves Melbourne tonight for the long drive to Perth for the Shannon's Nostalgia meeting.
He runs a red HK Kingswood, with a blown Haddad built 572, his times are around 7.10@180+mph. I spoke to him this morning, and he is looking forward to running the beast, Saturday, Sunday and on Woop *** Wednesday too. Be sure to check him out if you are going, he is a real showman and loves giving it his best.

I'll be there, but spectating not racing. Will be good to see Craig's car, even if it is a brand G. Anything that goes that quick gets my respect.

I will be spectating this year. A mate will have his green lj with a 730hp sbc there. Again, a dirty gm but definately a weapon! I will be racing at the western nationals though. Should be a good meet.
I belive Craig Gerdes will be at that meet too. |

Seen it on the weekend, looked very impressive compared to tube chassis vehicles compared to all steel.

Explains alot.
He did very well, humidity was a terrible compared to what we normally get (thank the cyclone up north) but considering the estimated altitude from the air density (around 800m ?) it ran a few 7.4's in qualifying which was impressive. Still didnt stop a few doorslammers from running 5's. :
