XBOX 360 or PS3

Hi my xbox360 has recently died and was looking at getting another one but was also interested in a PS3. The only reason i got the xbox was for forza 2 which was brilliant one of the best racing games out, but i want some more thoughts on the ps3 as i have been told alot of bad things from owners. Does any one thing that Gran Turismo 5 will be a good as forza 3?

I voted PS3 simply because of the Gran Turismo Series. Sure GT4 is outdated but it blew everything else away for ages. GT5 will do the same. And there are plenty of games now that are on both platforms so you should in theroy get most of the good games for both (except Gran Turismo).

In terms of PS3's dying, I was talking to 'Games Shop' about the PS3 (as Im not buying til GT5) and he was saying the early 60Gig models were buggers because they had an emulator like program to run the old PS2 games. It didnt work and lots of machines buggered up. He reackons the new 80Gig machines have ironed out most of the bugs early consoles had.

On the other hand I hate Microsft (less than I hate Apple) so I wouldnt buy an XBox even if you paid me.

ps3 is good, but the range of games is better on the 360

Yeah the range of games is definately bigger on Xbox360 then the PS3 but Playstations have some of the best running game series
Think Gran Tourismo and Final Fantasy (FF13 is coming out later this year, check the previews on youtube. looks incredible)

FF13 is coming out on both system this time. The PS3 has lost a lot of exclusives this time compared to the PS2-Xbox.

FF13 VS is PS3 exclusive tho.

It really depends on what games you prefer over which console to get. No point having a console with no games you want to play on it. Also most 3rd party titles seem to be better on the 360 & some of them have 360 exclusive downloadable content (fallout3, Gta etc).

I have both and both are good at their own things. If I had to ditch one it would probably be the PS3 but it's not definitive. I find Xbox Live to be its best asset.

The only thing the Gran Turismo will have over Forza will be that it's new. The lack of damage (at least for me) is a real killer. Forza has soul, Gran Turismo is just so mechanical.

I'm brand loyal. And have been since the original PS1. For me, its simple.. the controller. Theres a reason after 12 odd years, the core duel shock design hasn't change. And why its still an direct evolution from the 15 year old original controller. Its perfect.

Plus it looks pretty. And if you wanted to, you could take advantage of its ability to play plenty of media files, that and Blu-Ray.. some day.

I have all systems, 360 to play online with mates, Xbox has downloadable content for alot of games that PS3 does not, i.e , fallout 3, stopped playing Fallout 3 on PS3 because of that reason.

Honestly, i have all 3 systems, would never get rid of any of them, but I play the Xbox more.

The PS3 for sure, as it doenst have mircosoft technology therefore wont crash all the time lol!

PS3 for me, ive had it for nearly 12mths and played it all of 12 times. Thinking of selling it.

I actually own all 3 - Xbox 360, PS3 & Wii... I voted PS3 for the following reasons:

1. Reliability.
I'm sick and tired of the dodgy POS Xbox 360 build quality. I know of people that have gone through 7+ 360s. Yes, seven.

2. The ability to use my own hardware/accessories.
With the 360, you have to use proprietary accessories - their headsets, in particular, are crap. Wired or wireless.

Love the fact that with the PS3, I can use my own external HDD, memory cards, USB drives, bluetooth headsets. You can even replace the internal HDD without voiding warranty.

3. PS3 is also a Blu-ray player - arguably the best on the market.

4. Backwards compatibility. I was lucky enough to buy one of the first run of PS3s that were still backwards compatible. It's not 100%, but it's better than the 360's BC.

However, Xbox Live is still a better online service, overall. BUT, PSN is free *and* they actually have servers hosting most multiplayer games (rather than peer to peer), so lag and connectivity issues are reduced.

Buy whatever your mates have. If they have 360s get a 360 if they all have PS3s get a PS3.

You've already owned a 360 so you know the good points and bad. Xbox live is awesome and craps all over the PS3 but I'm sure in the not too distant future PS3 will bring their online stuff up to par.

I say Xbox 360, I bought my PS3 mainly just for Metal Gear Solid 4 as I'm a fan of the series, but when it comes to buying games, the PS3 has bugger all good exclusives compared to the Xbox 360. I barely play my PS3 anymore, biggest waste of $750 ever. Online on PS3 also sucks the fat one.

I have to get myself motivated to play my PS3, then rage quit about 5 minutes later because of Midnight Club LA and its stupidly insane difficulty and unfairness and not play the PS3 for another 3 months >.<

I'm the same with the 360. The PS3 controller seems fake and weak. I can't stand it.

The Xbox controller fits better in my hand and feels robust and tough.

I have had both consoles. I had a 360, sold it, bought a PS3 sold it and went back to a 360. I found the games lacking on the PS3 and the online was/is terrible. It took forever to download updates. Xbox Live is excellent and was partly the reason I went back. In saying that once the full GT5 is released a PS3 will once again sit in my house, but I won't sell my 360 this time.

As for nintendo (I know it is not in the poll) urghhhh. The DS is good, has some good games, but after the 64, Nintendo went down hill. I have had 2 Wii's, sold both 1 month after purchasing them.

I've had my foot in both camps, XBOX 360 wins hands down.

PS3-

For: Looks sleak, not prone to breaking down like the X360, PS3 only exclusive games have fantasic graphics and BLU-RAY.

Against: lousy interface for online play, is more expensive, heavier, has a painfully annoying controller.

XBOX 360 -

For: Awesome online gaming, cheap and extensive range of accessories, comfortable controller, looks the part of a next-gen console, massive variety of games, Halo, Forza and Gears of War.

I've always like the Xbox's but the PS3 is hard to go past simply because of blu ray compatibility.

Actually the Blue Ray thing has nosedived a bit,no one rents or buys them according to the lovely girls at Blockbuster.
According the Bajo and Junglist from Good Game the 360 is the most played but the WEE has outsold all comers,i on the other hand can't stand the WEE platform or it's games.
