Default Area 51

There are many theories as to what may be hidden there or what alien activities may be going on there, But when all is said and done I doubt the public will ever know. There is even debate as to whether President Obama has clearence to enter Area 51.
I'm sure I'm not the only one here that is hugely interested in all things Area 51 related.
Has anyone here ever been to the boundary and witnessed first hand the immense security?

Too many theories, too many happy hippies. It's not anything like Independence Day. It's most likely just top secret military R&D facilities. No aliens, no autopsies, nothing that Hollywood dream up.

It's where they tested things like the F-117, B-2 Spirit and maybe the as-yet undisclosed helicopter they used during the Bin Laden raid.

Forget Area 51, I want to know whether Aurora actually existed.

It's Groom Lake proving grounds...look it up on Google Earth. They test secret military planes and weapons systems there...which is why it's in the middle of the desert away from everyone, for both safety and to keep prying eyes away, though it's a real event for people to go out in big groups and park on nearby hills and try and spot something odd.

The stealth fighter and bomber were both tested there.

Why?
All the leading militaries develop their technologies in secret (as best they can.) Some make it into production and eventually into the public eye, but most “experimentals” don’t. There are many such aircraft (and weapons) that doubtless would have been the subject of much secrecy and speculation when they were under development, and are now simply part of history.

I don’t see why they would want to build a spy-plane shaped like a triangle, as I can’t really conceive of a purpose, but so what if they did? Given that our security is 100% reliant on the USA, I HOPE they do continue developing cutting edge military technology, and from an engineering perspective I am interested in the technology. Speculative visions of a triangle plane don’t really rock my boat, and I'm actually more worried about the other crap governments do in secret.

Referring to Aurora are you meaning the cinema shootings? I never got the conspiracy theories behind this, the only reason I thought was because of gun control, and there was something about the shooters studies on neuro science that the whole thing was setup, they found 2 gas masks and they saw someone getting dragged away into a car etc.

It's pretty amusing though, considering the XR8 next year will be reborn with the same spec engine as the FG GT, could you imagine being a HSV owner forking out all that money on a brand new GTS, then pulling up to the lights next to a FH XR8 and then sitting side by side all the way to 100 and beyond
Even more embarrasing would be the lower spec variants of the VF in HSV's stable getting whopped by a factory XR8.

Aurora was an interesting project, but for once the secret squirrel guys were telling the truth after they retired the venerable and amazing SR71 Blackbird reconnaissance plane...they don't need planes flying in risky airspace with modern satellite imaging.

Look at Google Earth on some of the ultra high resolution areas...there's some good ones in California where you can see people mowing the lawn and so-on quite clearly. Then realise that what you are seeing is the civilian stuff, the non-secret standard photos we are allowed to see...then imagine how detailed the military imaging systems are that we aren't allowed to see. Why take the risk of flying a plane over someones airspace to try and see what they're up to when you can put satellites over the area that would show you how often they pick their nose?

There is a book out the moment about Area 51. It has info on the CIA programmes on the U2 and Boxcart Programmes. Boxcart was the spy version of the USAF SR71 Blackbird. Even goes into some of the stuff ups in regards to the nuclear tests and also the nuclear rocket propulsion programme.

Not quite. Oxcart (no boxes) was the A-12 which led to the SR-71. The A-12 and SR-71 were both recon planes.

It would be cool if it was like it is on movies and conspiracy theories. But somehow I think it is just a Military base and testing area.

Maybe area 51 is a distraction from the real top secret area where the government is hiding alien corpses and spaceships

aliens exist, religion is a lie, money is debt, free energy exists & the media is what the new world order say it is.

I think area 51 is just for military testing purposes. The real stuff is somewhere else.

With North Korea threatening nuclear attacks on the US and it's allies, Pine Gap would be working overtime, So to would Area 51. It would be extremely interesting to know what sorts of intelligence that is being gathered by the US at the moment.

Sorry guys, I don't mean to belittle the Area 51 mystery. I don't think Aliens as such are a presence (though a tiny grain of possibility exists, from what I've read), I just think A51 is a an area where the USA develop top secret weapons. Aurora may be one of them, but as always, the truth (which may emerge in 50 years time or so) will be stranger than fiction.
Though I applaud President Obama's initiative on decoding the human brain, it may have negative repercussions, things which are beyond the scope of this discussion.

If you imagine how big the universe is, now times that by millions, there is every possibility that another planet somewhere out there can and has supported life forms, maybe more advanced, maybe less. Maybe just tiny little microscopic things, but there is definitely something out there.

There's more truth in some conspiracy theories then in what gets drummed into our head every day.

I would love to see the day this world unites as one in the goal of achieving proper space exploration, not hell bent on turning a profit by any means necessary, AKA war.

Sadly this will never happen in my life time. If at all.

Or maybe i just watch too much star gate.

Yep, Dugway Utah appears to be the new Area 51 these days. They are even claiming that alot of the projects from Area 51 have been moved to Dugway.
