How does this work for a customer waiting for a pre ordered (say, ordered early this year) 2.3l auto Mustang Coupe in these colours, only to be told it will be here later than the ones you have in stock?
Are the models you are receiving, MY16 with sync2? |

At last, the long awaited dealer stock, about 7 to 8 months after the first lot of ordered Mustangs have hit the streets here in Australia.
The big question will obvious be, When will dealers have V8 GT Mustangs sitting in their yards ready for sale? |

Fair call too, and to be fair I thought the same thing too...until I drove one!
Pretty surprising little monster with the 2.3L turbo and a lighter and more nimble front end than the V8 so easier to throw around corners. But yeh...when the V8 when it kicks over is kinda special |

It might look like you have the full package, but you will still know you have a tiny ****. You also have to figure that if you're getting charged $12k more, and the ONLY difference is the engine, then you're getting ripped off. |

That same description could be used to describe a Falcon XR6 NA in comparison to the XR8 & XR6T Last edited by 4stanger; 24-07-2016 at 07:12 AM. |

I think the turbo Mustang is a fairly complete package in its own right, they have the handling game sewn up and they're still quite a potent thing, 13s stock and 12s with a tune from what I've read. They seem to be getting a lot of attention from folks who'd usually buy GTIs and WRXs, totally different demographic compared to the traditional V8 customer.

There is an old Turkish story Turks lover there tales about a cat watching his master eat fish as the master eating his fish away cats waiting in anticipation, once the cat realises he not going to get any, the cat disgruntled, comments I don’t like fish any way. It makes more sense when said in Turkish Its a story said to those who bag out what they can’t have

I can't afford one at the moment, and if I could I'd probably go for a late model GT.
But don't get me wrong, I definitely see the attraction in the Mustang. Absolutely Iconic Muscle car. Wouldn't mind an older (more affordable) one. But I don't get the 4 cylinder turbo? Regardless of the merits of the EcoBoost as an engine, I don't see the attraction in a Muscle car like the Mustang. |

I'd get an RS for pretty much the same money.
I don't see how the ecoboost mustang can sell priced near that monster.

Just curious as to how many of the preorders are actually for the 2.3 for Aus.I would gather it would be low so would Ford HQ stateside look at particular markets and say we need to build more V8s as opposed to the 2.3 to satisfy that market.I recall the reborn Monaro came with a supercharged V6 option and it was not offered for very long so it would be a good indication that punters in our part of the world prefer a coupe with a V8.

People here seem to forget that the Mustang has always been fitted with a lesser engine spec from day dot.
Whether it was a 200ci six cylinder in the 60's, a four cylinder in the 70's, or a V6 during the the last couple of decades. Most people would always love to have a V8 but to me the Ecoboost is a good compromise for everyday driving.

Can you read? I said do some research. You said the only difference is the engine, when it clearly isn't. I don't want a mustang so why would I buy one?
Also thete is nothing wrong with the technology. Just because you don't like it. SYNC is actually quite cool. Unless you have enough the first version like I do.
