Cool would love to see pics of your XT wagon.
I drove my XR wagon daily for about 3 months before the resto began. I don't know if thats long enough to class as a daily. I also have a HD that I have used for work and back and probably should do again soon. |

Pottery beige XA GT cop's daily duties as much as possible, school runs, mums taxi, parts chasing, general running around you name it.. Its not even scared of the rain fairies.. We just enjoy it and use it as our 'normal' car, thats just a little bit expensive to run..

If & when 90 day a year classic rego comes in to Victoria I'll enjoy driving my early 70's Jap economy hatchback on nice sunny days. But I couldn't live with it every day as I like remote locking, A/C, power steering, power windows, a sound system and remote mirrors too much.
This way I'd get to enjoy the charm of the oldy (and 650kg weight, twin carbs, manual steering, roll cage & harness) without the lack of convenience factors giving me the irrits. If you can drive an oldy everyday then more power to you because I really enjoy seeing classics on the road or parked by the street. But there is no way that I could reguarly put up with their lesser handling & braking abilities of more modern machinery. |

I was going to build an XA wagon with an AU I6 in it for the misses as here daily driver. It would of had all the mod cons like power steer, power windows, air con but then some one woke me up to the fact that if she has an accident then there are no crumble zones, air bags not even side intrusion bars. So in the end I bought her a series 3 AU wagon so there would be less chance of serious injury to her and the kids. Would have been good though.

Drove an XC wagon everyday until I sold to someone on here who also uses it as a daily. Before that I drove a P5 to work.
I pass 2 cars almost everyday in my area ..... a green original V8 XT Fairmont and an XA black and original coupe that an old bloke drives. | [/url] |

bloke at work drives his bronze wine XY fairmont to work rain hail or shine.
My uncle hacked into town for 6 years in an XA Fairmont coupe V8 and all, drove it around his almond trees too till it died, he did that to a few then dumped them out in the gorge :(

Yep, I drive my XC wagon every single day. The only times it gets left behind is when I ride into work on the bike or if it's hailing. Wouldn't have it any other way.

Both my XP and my XC are off the road at the moment, but they were my daily driven cars. (More so the XP as it is cheaper to drive.)
Around here, there has been a few moe older cars getting around of late. I pass a nice XY sedan almost every morning.

The guy across the road uses his driver #1 quality Charger 6 pack as a daily driver. He says its not bad on fuel despite the three carbies.

Datsun 180B as my daily. It's not as cool as everyone elses here, but it's the first car I ever owned. I've had it for almost 6 years now. I hear a lot of people regret getting rid of their first car, so I think I'll keep it, even if it means putting it into storage later on. It's a good, honest little car to drive, and it doesn't really use much more fuel than a modern car either. I think the engine has at least 100 000km or more left in it to.
