Did anyone get down to the nitro champs at eastern creek today?
I got guest tickets through work to sit in with the DMR racing team. Darren Morgan has won the championship in 2005, 2011 and 2012 and today ranked topped qualifier (in the top fuellers) with a 4.77 sec pass. I've been to these events before with other teams but today was a different experience. Darren personally came around and sat down with each of us, told story's, talked like we were mates for years and showed nothing but humble gratitude for us for supporting him. They put on a big feed, took us through their trucks and broke down the whole car and talked us through the whole purpose of the vehicle. For a team that is severly under budgeted these guys are a forced to be reckoned with. I hope to see some more good times from DMR and urge others to head down and check it out tomorrow! Cheers |

Can hear them from home. Would have been great to be there though.

Very insane cars indeed. It's also insane to see the guys back at the truck area strip the engine out piece by piece and put it all back together with new gear (superchargers are only good for 4 runs, clutch plates 1 race etc) in about an hour!
Most the of areas set up are outside so you can get within metres of it when watching them rebuild. It's an awesome sight |
