Hi, I am new to the Mondeo world and have a Zetec, Jun2010 TDCi with Powershift and am very happy with it, however it has a noisy rear wheel bearing.
I am looking at replacing the hub and am trying to source the correct part. Any tips as to where to source them in Australia at a reasonable price. I am sure other parts will be required too! For interest I am going to use Valvoline SynPower FE 5W-30 for the engine, any comments or preferred suggestions? Thanks in advance |

I think a sourse of reasonable priced parts would be of benifit to all here, is there anyone who does their own work on their cars here??

not a mondeo owner, but usually for general spares i go , bursons/repco in that order, unless it is a part i want to be specifically from ford , the odd bearing places will do wheel/hub/bearings but for specialist stuff a lot dont , other than that ebay might be worth a go if your not in a hurry.

Where abouts are you located? Genuine Ford Part number 6G91 2C299 FAH if that helps, if you are in Sydney I can point you in a good direction. Let me know...

Mik and GTLEGEND,
Thanks so much for the replies. I will complete my profile but to answer your question I am on the Sunshime Coast but moving to Bris very soon. The advice for the parts supplier is appreciated and the Pno is great too. I think that I may have jummped the gun a little, I swapped the tyres to the front and the noise seems to have followed the tyres!! Oh well, the bearings may be ok, so tyres it is. It is a shame as there is heaps of meat left on the tyres. What I was expecting is similar to my "toy" car. I have a Porsche 911, 1975, and there are specialist parts suppliers that are mainly used. I was expecting a preferred ford parts supplier. I like online so I can compare price/quality of parts. Thanks again for your assistance, I am sure I will be on this forum in the future and will hopefully be able to assist others! Cheers |

I'm not sure I'd use Valvoline synpower FE, although it states it meets the spec's, I see no other info on any DPF specifics.
I'd probably look at SYNPOWER MST 5W-30 as it's low saps. Otherwise Nulon's product: I've used this on the last two services and like that the engine noise is a little quieter. I buy 10L drums and then the odd 5L bottle for the odd 5.5L pan. 10L on average was around $107 so get it when on special $89 I joined stupidcheap and used the $10 credit on it for $79. http://www.nulon.com.au/products/Ful.../#.VcGT3rfuei4 |

Keep an eye on it. I had a rear wheel bearing replaced under warranty at about 60,000km but tyre choice can also be an issue.
