Why is it my three year old phone has become slow and unresponsive? I don't have many apps installed so it is not due to lack of system resources. What the hell is going on the background?

Phones are like PC's, you need to clean & delete junk files and cache.

Random pauses in commentary. I am becoming annoyed by speakers inexplicable pauses in their radio and video presentations. It appears to be unrelated to sentence punctuation for example, pausing before commencing a new sentence or responding to the use of commers, colons or parenthesis. While it may be acceptable for some random presentation on YouTube it now appears to be creeping into traditional scheduled programs on radio and television. ( Incidentally I do recall the old joke about the bear fronting up to the bar)

Because this is the way of the World....
Similar to the way I gave my old rig a thorough claying, waxing and all the trimmings and the very next day it rained... Not a lot, so as to cleanse the paint... Oh no, just enough to cake it with dust as it sat in the work carpark...

Maybe we're just lucky?

It's a bit like when I wash my car... an hour later it rains... only just enough to warrant re-washing it to remove the water spots... Grrr

Why is it Americans say "get off off me"? So the first off is telling us what they want and the second off is specifically where? What part of "get off me" isn't clear?

It's "get off of me", and it's considered grammatically incorrect.

Why is it when you pop into a shop these days, during the day, you always get asked "not working today?" "got the day off"?

What are you supposed to say? "nah just skiving"

Why is it, that people seem to think they have something uniquely different just because they have a slightly different trim of vehicle?

I mean, FFS, yes, you have an XR6, that just means there are slight differences in trim, etc, you dont magically have a whole different car with different panelwork, etc to a standard Falcon.

Or, yeah, you've got an RTV, guess what buddy, you've got a standard Falcon ute with a factory lift kit, why the **** is something as unimportant as a headlight bulb going to change?

Ford werent dumb enough to make a totally different flavour of things for every different trim spec, they started with ONE bodyshell and bolted whatever was needed to it. Got a BA Force 6? beaut, you've got a turbo'd Fairmont Ghia, got an XT? guess what, you didnt get all the cool shizzle that the Force 6 got, you'll have empty holes, blank panels and more boringg trim & dress up parts, but BOTH cars are based on EXACTLY the same bodyshell!

Got an EF Fairmont Ghia? BFD, nobody cares that it had the Tickford motor, it doesnt make your dipstick any different!

Different models meant different characteristics, slight changes in interior for extra comfort and looks, body work and mechanicals for better performance and handling, I would definitely say you have unique features over the base model for which you pay.
Agree, Same platform but different features imo.

Cheers.

What I'm talking about are the people who seem hell bent on the concept that it must besuch a major change to say, put an XR6 front onto an XT, things like that

Couldn't have said it better. I mean, a Force 6 or an RTV has high appeal in their own unique ways, but some people get a little blinded by the fact they were all Falcon's.

The one that I always shake my head at is the whole Tickford thing. You know the sort, they will have a basic Fairmont with a sunroof, which means it will have a Tickford option plate fitted to the engine bay. Suddenly, that means it a Tickford not a Ford. No, it's a Fairmont sedan that was sent across the road for a contract manufacturer to install the sunroof on Ford's behalf. Does that also mean you have a Tickford because you have a "factory" dual fuel system fitted to your Forte?

Or the ones who crow on about their 395,000 km Fairmont Ghia having the "special" Tickford engine. No, they all came with that engine, yours is no different. Ford and Tickford only put that engine in the Fairmont/Fairlane to get enough volume to pay off the development cost of the VCT cylinder head.

I could go on, but I've probably offended enough already.
