kn laser problem

hmmmm...hopefully I am in the laser/ telstar forum now, I have a 2001 kn laser and cannot detach the external door handle on the drivers door from the rod that goes to the actuator would someone be able to advise me how to release the rotten thing please, many thanks, Ray
