help needed on remote locking

wife's friend has recently bought a 2000 laser (KN??).
it has had the drivers side locking mechanism replaced after a break in.
the problem it has now is that all doors but the drivers door lock by remote, what is needed to rectify this?
if I reprogram the remote will this fix it, if so how do I do that.
