Chris,
if it were a bluetooth phone i wouldnt have needed the cradle, in the handsfree kit there is a remote button which is all you need to use the carkit if your phone is bluetooth.
But otherwise the only other option was to run that big wire you see coming out of the dash along the outside of it and down into the passenger side footwell, so i chose the option of cutting a small part out to hide it all behind the dash.
