I think the only questionable bit is the transmission. Allan Howett on YouTube services a taxi fleet of Mondeos reports them easily doing 350,000 miles, but they're manuals.

Possibly the later Powershifts with improved sensors will be better. Generally from what I've seen even when they do fail it's minor stuff like sensors, the problem being that it's a huge job to replace the $100 part, and often not worth doing on a sub sub $10,000 car.

Without doubt, the most aggravating, worst design fault of the transmission (especially one so sensitive to oil condition)is the primary oil filter. A $40 part, and with the front cover off you can see it and touch it, but to replace it you have to remove and completely dismantle the transmission.

With the valve body out it's so accessible it's really tempting to try deforming it to get it out/new one in. Maybe one day.
