The Razor was basically the launch vessel for their new 19-inch alloy chassis, which replaced the previous 18-inch alloy chassis. The unique handle design gave it a point of difference over the 19-inch Honda and Masport alloy models. They did the same thing for the Tornado, which was their new 19-inch steel chassis.
I really like the handle because it made the mower very easy to pivot and turn at the end of a row. The drink bottle was genius, very handing mowing for hours in summer.
I have no idea why they discontinued it, perhaps it was too expensive to make? Masport produced something similar, which they packaged as MSV for selected alloy chassis models. The Masport handle designed lasted way longer, only being discontinued in the last few years and coincides with a culling of the range.
As for the Razor, you can still buy the Razor chassis, its missing the unique handle but uses the same catcher, wheels and blade setup. That chassis has been branded Corvette Alloy, Mustang, Bronco and Commercial. At the moment, they offer the following -
