Bunky car yards will get their stock from anywhere, some of the big dealers will have trade ins that they will sell to the smaller yards.
When I had the wrecking yard I had a dealers licence, I used to buy some used cars from a Metro motors in Morley ( Holden dealer ) most cars were over 10 years or high ks, they would have a weekly tender on the trade ins they were not interested in, I would look at the pictures they had online and then fax in a tender of what cars I was interested in, bought some great cars and some real sh!t heaps too
