Here is the picture of the TDCI engine bay and fuel filter sits up front (circled).It has a drain nipple (arrowed)
The idea being to slacken the nipple till fuels drains out and becomes clear (free of water). Attach a clear plastic hose to reduce risk you get air in the filter. Trouble is the manual recommends you then bleed the whole system by sucking fuel into the filter from the tank.(special ford pump)
