Someone will be able to tell us, but I heard that the diesel we get here is of a different quality than that in Europe so the particulate filters don't stop the particles that are detrimental to health. Could be wrong.

I checked the manual and could not see a mention of the light. I don't think the Mondeo has such a light. In terms of the diesel quality, I am not too sure.
